Before Appointments

There are many factors that contribute to great color retention.
Please read the following for your best results.

Stop
using Accutaine at least 6 months prior to appointment.
Also, stop any strong chemical facial cleanser and creams,
including;  alpha-hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, hydroquinone, retinols, kojic acid, copper peptide etc, 2 weeks prior to appointment.

Medical clearance is required after any major surgeries, with in 1 year.

Premedication/antibiotics are advised if you are required to take for dental visits.

You must wait a period of one year after any surgical procedures to have a cosmetic tattoo procedure performed on your eyes! This includes, but is not limited to the following:
  • Lasik
  • Blepharoplasty
  • Cornea Repair
  • Lens Replacement
  • Refractive Eye Surgery
  • Etc.

Lips

  • If you've ever had cold sores (even 1) You will need to ask your doctor for an antiviral prescription such as Zovirax or Valtrex to help prevent an outbreak during your healing process
  • Physicians usually instruct usage for a 7-10 day course, beginning 3-4 prior to procedure
  • If you are unable to get a prescription, you may pick up a supplement called Lysine at any nutritional store. Take 1000-2000 mg of Lysine daily for a week or two prior and following your procedure
  • If you have had any type of lip surgery, consult with the physician about how long you should wait before having a permanent makeup procedure on the lips
  • Most physicians are giving a 4 week OK after lip filler injections like collagen or Restylane
  • Be aware that lips that have been injected may resist retention of color.
  •  Many Permanent makeup artists have noticed poor color retention in lips that have received collagen injections within the previous 6 months, longer for Restylane. We won't know on you, until we try though.
  • There has even been a little pigment migration along lip edges with Restylane.
  • It is best to have permanent makeup prior to lip filler because this is your permanent state.
  • If the lip surgery involves an incision (like a lip implant), the incision needs to mature about 1 year before tattooing on top of it.
  • If you have tongue piercings or wear dentures, this may increase risk of getting bacterial and/or fungal infection from the mouth to the lips.
  • Silvadene ointment used on lips helps fight both bacterial and fungal problems.
  • Do NOT use whitening toothpast or whiten your teeth AFTER a lip procedure, it could lighten the lip pigment-color.

  • Failure to follow this rule could result in the breakdown of healing of your skin. Which will make you more prone to infection, create MORE scar tissue, which will make future procedures even less effective. No exceptions on this one. A medical release from your doctor must me provided, prefered by email, to me before this procedure.
